South and west elevations here take punishing UV. We use exterior-grade acrylics rated for this climate, prime bare wood and any bleeding knots, and spray-and-back-roll where it improves adhesion. Shortcuts on prep show up as peeling within two summers.
We Fix The Wood Before We Paint It
Rotten fascia, soft trim, and failed caulk joints get replaced and sealed before color goes on, and we check the roof edge and gutters while we are up there, since chronic paint failure at the eaves is usually a drainage problem rather than a paint problem.
